What we collect, and what we do with it.

Only what you give us

When you book a call, sign up for The Whetstone, or send a form, we collect what you type: your name, email address, phone number, company name, and anything you write in a message field. If you become a client, we collect the business information needed to do the work, under a separate engagement letter.

The site also records ordinary technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit, through our website and CRM platform and any analytics we run.

To answer you, and nothing sneaky

• To respond. Replying to your message, holding your call time, sending the confirmation and calendar invite.
• To send what you asked for. The Whetstone goes only to people who signed up for it. Every issue has an unsubscribe link.
• To run engagements. Diagnostics, builds, and ongoing work, under the terms in your engagement letter.
• To keep records. Contact history, so we know what we told you and when.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent or trade lists. We do not use client information in our marketing; see the Proof section on the home page for why.

You opt in, you can opt out

If you give us a mobile number and consent to texts, we may send you appointment reminders, replies to your messages, and occasional messages about our services. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out and HELP for help, or call (442) 334-9271. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of buying anything from us.

Mobile numbers and text-message consent are never shared with third parties for their marketing.

The tools that run the site

Your information is stored in our website and CRM platform (GoHighLevel, operated by HighLevel Inc.), our email provider (Google Workspace), and our scheduling and payment tools when you use them. Those vendors process it on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. We share information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our company and our clients.

If you are a client, the licensed tax and accounting work is done by Butler CFO & Tax, LLC, also a division of Splendid Life Solutions LLC, and your information moves between the two divisions as the engagement requires.

The ordinary kind

The site uses cookies and similar technology to make forms and the calendar work and to understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser; the booking calendar and forms may not work if you do.

Ask and we will act

• Unsubscribe from The Whetstone with the link in any issue.
• Stop texts by replying STOP.
• See, correct, or delete what we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. We will confirm within ten business days.

We keep contact records as long as we have a business reason to, and client records as long as the engagement letter and the law require. The site is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
